The history of the Mavashev family and the history of your family are unique narratives that shape our identity and connect us with past generations. Each family is enriched by its unique history, values, and traditions. That is why I have invested so much effort and time in creating this website.

Starting in 2013, at the initiative of Tamara Abramovna Mavasheva, our mother, we, her children and grandchildren, began collecting materials about the family of Avram-Khaim and Rivka (Nissim) Mavashev. We created the book “My Family,” dedicating it to the memory of our parents and their children. However, the book did not cover many events of the last ten years. To update this history, we created a website where each of you can contribute.

Exploring one’s genealogy is an act of self-discovery that helps us realize our connection to something greater than just “us.” It gives us a new understanding of life and the responsibility for what will remain after us. We are all heirs of our ancestors, and the memory of them is a great wealth of our soul.

This website becomes a living historical chronicle of the Mavashev family, a platform for exchanging stories and getting acquainted with our genealogy. We invite all members of our extended family to contribute to this ever-evolving narrative.

The site is available in two languages: English and Russian. I hope that this resource will become a valuable source of information for our descendants. I thank everyone who participated in creating the site, especially my wife, Faina (Aminova) Gulkarova, without whose support and contribution this project would have been impossible.
